How to Post Info & Upload Photo to Mohawk Valley Pet Lost & Found

Whether you have lost a pet or found one, we need to have as much information as possible. Missing information will cause delay in getting your poster online and circulated. ***

We have created an easy form for you to fill out whether you have lost or found a pet. Please click the link below to fill out the form and submit a photo. To avoid delay in getting the word out (if I am unavailable at the moment), you should also make a post directly to our Facebook page so others can start sharing, while you wait for us to make your poster.

REQUIRED INFORMATION WE NEED TO MAKE YOUR POSTER:
(Please use proper punctuation & grammar, including periods at the end of sentences, and capitalizing the first letter of new sentences.)
  1. City & street (AND NEAREST CROSS STREET) where the pet was lost or found.
  2. Day the pet went missing or the day you found it.
  3. Pet’s name
  4. Breed and color.
  5. Age
  6. Size
  7. Sex of pet and if it’s spayed or neutered
  8. Was it wearing a collar? With tags? Microchipped? Describe collar.
  9. Temperament: Is it friendly? Skittish? A runner? Approachable? Food motivated?
  10. Any additional info noteworthy? Unusual markings? Does it need meds?
  11. Your contact info: Name and CELL PHONE. We will not post without a phone number
  12. Do you want to offer a reward? (We will put “reward” on poster, but we no longer will write an amount of the reward.)
***Please write a short paragraph with your lost or found ad. It’s suggested that you describe how you lost or found the pet!!***
**PLEASE! PUT AS MUCH INFORMATION AS POSSIBLE ABOUT YOUR PET! Look at one of our posters and provide all that info, including PET’S NAME, city and street he went missing from, breed, color, age, neutered or spayed, size, microchipped or collar with or without tags, and your phone number.
****WE ONLY PROVIDE THIS SERVICE FOR THE PET’S OWNER, the person who found a lost pet, or the person who has that pet in their custody. WE DO NOT WORK WITH 3RD PARTY POSTERS. If you are not the owner of the pet, or an agent working on behalf of the owner, then please advise the owner to post here.

HOW TO UPLOAD A PHOTO***
Below you will find the diagrams for uploading photos to both Facebook Mobile app (Diagram 1) and Facebook using a computer browser (Diagram 2.) After you upload, and especially after you reload your browser, you may not see your photo on our page. On your computer browser, you will see it under “Recent Posts by Others.” (Diagram 3) Another option is to send the photo via private message in Facebook. We then take your photo and make a poster and post it in our Lost or Found galleries. Please let me know if you are having problems.
Diagram 1: On a mobile phone, open facebook, go to our page and click on “Share Photo.” Navigate to the photo in your phone.

Diagram 2: On a computer, click on “Photo” in the “Write something” box on our page. Navigate to the photo on your computer.

(Diagram 3) You may not see your photo posted on our wall. It will be under “Recent Posts by Others” and you should see a small paper clip showing there is an attachment. If you click on that post, you should see your photo.
